Dax Kimbrough
I’m Dax Kimbrough, Founder and CEO of Convection Consulting.
I help growing companies create clarity, fix operational friction, and build the systems they need to run smoother, smarter, and with a lot less chaos.
My work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, leadership, finance, communication, and change. I work with founders, CEOs, business owners, HR executives, and leadership teams who are dealing with the messy middle of growth: unclear priorities, overwhelmed managers, inefficient workflows, slow decisions, financial blind spots, and teams that are working hard but not always working in sync.
Before launching Convection Consulting in 2015, I spent nearly 20 years in executive and leadership roles across complex, fast-moving creative businesses, including music, entertainment, media, and brand-driven organizations. That experience shaped how I think about business: talented people still need structure, creative work still needs operational discipline, and growth only works when the inside of the company can keep up with the opportunity outside of it.
I’ve worked with companies across public relations, video games, education, startups, small businesses, service-based organizations, entertainment, and media. In plain English: I help leaders figure out what is actually slowing the business down and what to do about it.
I earned my Executive MBA from the University of Southern California and later taught finance, marketing, branding, and strategic partnerships at USC’s Thornton School of Music. I bring that mix of executive experience, academic discipline, financial understanding, and real-world operating judgment into every client engagement.
Convection Consulting is built for leaders who are tired of vague advice and generic consulting language. The work is practical, candid, collaborative, and focused on making the business function better.
Better systems. Clearer decisions. Stronger teams. Less chaos.
